Resora is wonderful today but it is also a living, growing project. Director of Hospitality, Danielle Blackwell sums up the feeling Resora offers as a promise for the future. She said, "People have visited here and said to me 'I can hear the former people that were here.' I want you to not just listen with your ears but listen with your heart and imagine what will be here a year, two years, three years from now."

The grand opening of Resora, a word that incorporates the concepts of resilience and resourcefulness into the embodiment of the human spirit, includes multicultural activities from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. that are open to the public. An invitation-only event is planned from 7 p.m.-10 p.m.

It took almost two years to get this museum to this day. For part of that time Danielle Blackwell has been in charge of the project. And it's more than just a museum. "We have an archival system, a library and a study carol research center complete with computers", said Danielle Blackwell, the Executive Director of the Albany Civil Rights Institute.

Grant funded research and community coordinator utilize community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach to address local health equity and social justice issues.
